Hi all,
I am new to this board as of a couple of days ago, so thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and wisdom.
Now,
I just started taking Adderall XR 15mg/day four days ago. Each morning after I take it, I get a sexual rush, and remain pretty turned on for hours. This isn't all that unusual, as I have always had a high sex drive. What IS unusual, though, is that it seems to be really hard to orgasm. Even with a LOT of stimulation, etc., the normal methods of bringing about orgasm just don't seem to cut it. I feel plenty aroused, and the stimulation feels great, but the climax remains elusive for the most part, or is terribly difficult to achieve...
I am afraid my man is taking this a bit hard, as he really wants me to be satisfied. I, too, am feeling frustrated by the delay/difficulty in coming. Anyone have any advice on this one?Otherwise the Adderall is fine.
thanks for your replies,
liz

This is a bit gross but a friend had an IV injection of methamphetamine and came, just like that. Certainly does something, but don't blokes find Adderal can cause ED even as it increases libido? And what you have is something different again maybe.

You're an adult, and this is your first time ever on an amphetamine?
I would think if you have been able to put it off this long, what's six weeks experimenting with Stratterra first?
If you want to be a stickler for the amphetamines, at least see a gyno-- this is not that common of a side effect, and indicates something's less resillient than it should be in your body.
After Strattera, there's other options-- 15mg all at once? Have you tried, 10mg first??? jeez!
There's also other amphetamines, but this sounds like you have an allergy to the amphetamines, so I'd see how Strattera does for you. It's your body's way of saying you can't handle how the rather intense dilation of blood vessels is affecting your body's internals in general, including your GI tract.
But if you want to, there is always Desoxyn, which is what I take. It has fewer cardiovascular side effects. Take no more than 5-10mg within 6-8 hours, no more than 20mg-25mg total a day. Or there's Ritalin, also milder than Adderall.

I think maybe you have some unconscious or hidden assumptions about those of us who are using amphetamines, which is fine--but please be aware that there are many, many things about the people on the board that you do not know...Try to assume that the people on the board are doing the best they can (for example, exclaiming "jeez!" doesn't help me feel any better about the 15mg I need to take to notice anything at all. For three days I took 10mg and noticed NOTHING.
If I MUST justify why I chose amphetamines over Strattera, I couldn't wait the six weeks for Strattera because I am in a PhD program and have my qualifying examinations coming up. The ADD I have always had got so bad within the last year that I finally broke down and saw my pdoc for it. I suffered with ADD for 35 years without drugs, and finally realized I could use the help. She suggested Adderall because i explained that I needed to see quick improvement or get kicked out of school. When I posted I had just started the Adderall, and it seems to have calmed down. Happy to report, though, that things are back to normal...and my boyfriend is happy that I still have the increased drive and no longer have the difficulty with the big O. I don't think taking the Adderall and having a harder time with orgasm is all that uncommon either--lots of people seem to report that when they take amphetamines recreationally, so it was probably just an adjustment for my individual body.
Cheers!

Desoxyn is one of the lest scripted (althought one of the cleanest Stimulants) stims and, un fortunately (this not being the 1960s) VERY few people have the chance of tying Medical grade Methamphetamine for their ails,(Media blacklash) Perhaps you are lucky you an open PsyDoc, many don't. all ADD/HD similar folk should be so lucky.
Cheers
