I can't believe what I've just gone through. I have been on Effexor XR 175 mg. for almost a year now after being switched off Celexa. After having recurring headaches, my GP lowered the dose of the Effexor, thinking this might be the problem. The headaches got worse, I began getting dizzy, nauseous, and having an almost indescribable tingling, jangling effect in my arms and hands. Moving my eyes caused weird sensations in my head. I was scared because the symptoms seemed like the beginnings of MS. I went back to the doc, and after undergoing 2 CT scans and an MRI, he just didn't know where else to turn. Well, I googled the phrase "Anti-deppressant withdrawal" and was shocked by what what I read! There were lists and posts describing exactly what I had gone through, and still am to some degree. I was so pissed off I stopped taking the damned Effexor all together, and now after about 3 weeks i actually feel better than I have in months. (I realize this wasn't the most prudent course, but what is done is done. ) Should I point this out to the doctor or just get a different doc? I've really been jaded by this whole ordeal.
