least sedating, least anti-memory/cognition benzo

Posted by iforgotmypassword on July 22, 2005, at 11:17:37

im guessing it might be xanax? what is it like? i also need social anxiety relief properties. i am taking lorazepam (ativan) at 0.5-1mg twice a day. but i also have 0.5 mg pill of clonazepam. how do those two compare with xanax. any one particulary better for social anxiety. are there any other benzos i should know about?

Lorazepam is Ativan? It made me amnesic, but that may have been dose related. Maybe Xanax, maybe Librium??

yeah, i remember that effect when i was having it injected in the emergency room, i dont remember if simple oral dosing caused that effect though. is this side effect prominent? what causes it?

For me, Xanax is the best. Virtually no sedation. No cognitive effects. It just killed the anxiety pure and simple. (And by doing so left me with a little more energy and focus.) Unfortunately, I opted out of it in favor of Klonopin because I was concerned about the higher potential for dependence. Now I have a pdoc who's more grudging about benzo use, and so I doubt he'd let me switch.

Hi Phillipa
I was probably taking way too much, hoping it would do something that it was unable to do.
