about emotions and feel like i am not being percieved as lying? i wouldn't say i have much anxiety at all. i don't really like talking to people much of the time, but it's more that it feels uncomfortable and just always wrong rather than invoking traditional signs of anxiety. i also find it easier to act and do things.
i am specifically wondering what could be the chemical mechanism of this response, as i typically would theoretically expect this response from what stimulant medication is supposed to do. also, getting my doctor to prescribe things that are actually useful is like pulling teeth, i find. he was willing to prescribe a benzo last appointment (but i took lamictal instead for some reason, prolly cos im still afraid of the 'sedating' properties of benzos being the last thing i need) but i dont know what made him willing last time, and i think he is generally much less willing to prescribe those things than the ER.

In reply to why does lorazepam make it easier to talk..., posted by iforgotmypassword on July 19, 2005, at 9:53:55
I was on Lorazepam 6mg ( 2mg X 3) daily for severe panic. 2 months ago
Ativan doesnt really make you in the mood talk, you more just mellowed out, you can function fine anything thats under 2mg. I worked fine on 1mg at work, i hardly felt anything.
Clonazepam 1.25-2mg makes you in the mood to talk, you are much more open. Not exactly alcohol wise. But you want more "stimulus" from talking. Lorazepam and Clonzepam feel diffrent in their effects much. Lorazepam is not as sedating, and doesnt calm a disturbed mind as well.
Ativan may make you talk with less studuring, but you mainly just want to sit back and not say anything. Lorazepam doesnt work on some serotonin receptors that Clonazepam has something to do with which may be why it acts the way it does. Lorazpeam mainly acts only on GABA receptors, thats all. Clonazepam seems to do the same the same thing but on serotonin too. I dont know i'll pull some literature if you want.
Best to you and your conversation.

Matt, Wow! I'm impressed! You're doing your home work. So you see you have definitely matured. Just my opinion of lorazepam. When I took it and it worked it calmed me so I wanted to interact with others and talk. If my anxiety is high I can't function. Fondly, Phillipa
