I take Trazodone at night to help with sleep sometimes. If I took it on a regular nightly basis, would it help take the edge off Wellbutrin during the day?

NOO.
Belive me you will feel 'doped'.
I couldnt stand trazadone, even at night.
Ask your doctor maybe about a small dose of Ativan (.5 mg) through out the day.

I personally cannot tolerate the "hangover" side effect of trazodone. It did help me sleep though. If you don't experience any side effects other than sedation, you may want to try a very small dosage of it along with the Wellbutrin and see how that works!

What is the wellbutrin for? It's not supposed to be a very good antidepressant. Used to stop smoking a lot. And causes anxiety. Fondly, Phillipa

Wellbutrin is a dopamine/noradrenaine reptake inhibitor.
It increases dopamine in the synapse, but stops release... its wierd.
I do suggest maybe an anti-anxiety added, or lowering the dose.
Or changing...

I've been on trazodone for years for sleep and its doesn't cause morning hangover at all for me. When I first started it, it knocked me for a loop and caused vertigo even, but side effects went away pretty quickly. I just was started on Wellbutrin SR in addition to the trazodone, but it's too early to tell you anything about the combo.
Give yourself time to see how you react to the Wellbutrin before you add anything else. Other than sedation, did you get any other side effects from trazodone?

No - Trazodone is great. After a while I think the sleepiness goes away.

how long have you been on the wellbutrin? i found a solid 4-6 weeks were necessary before the anxiety/agitation during the day wore off. i used xanax as needed. then, just as predicted, the anxiety/agitation/anger subsided. there's a definite "breaking-in" period with wellbutrin.
i, too, found trazadone to be pretty heavy.
