meds? And if so, can you tell me if it ever goes away?
My doctor said that I am having severe post nasal drip also, which is exaserbating the problem, but I have always had allergies. It has been difficult to swallow for only the three weeks since I started Wellbutrin XL and Risperdal. Doc says it's called dysphasia and is a side effect of Wellbutrin. But she doesn't know whether it will go away in time or not as my body adjusts to it.
Will it ever go away?

I had that problem while I was on Lamictal.
I hated it. It sure didn't help my anxiety.. feeling like I couldn't swallow caused me to panic!
I also have post nasal drip so it's likely a combination of both.
Drink lots and lots of water. That's the only thing that seemed to help me.

The first real med I had to take was synthroid. I gagged everytime I took it. Eventually it went away. When someone tells you you will have to take a med for the rest of your life or you will die it literally makes you sick. Fondly, Phillipa

supposedly the allergies are making it PAINFUL, but the Wellbutrin causes the dysphasia itself.
I try to drink a lot, but am constantly choking or swallowing a lot of air at the same time.
Did it ever go away for you guys?

When I stopped the Lamictal, mine went away but when I have anxiety problems, I still have it from time to time.
The more I think about it, the more it freaks me out and the less likely I am to figure out how to swallow!
I go in this horrible cycle! Yikes.
