Hey Mitch/Everyone,
Been doing great with selegiline 10 mgs per day .... haven't posted in a few months! Now that I am dating again, I want to lose my "beer belly" .... I am about 10 lbs over weight. My questions are ...
1. Can low dose lithium cause 10 lbs weight gain?
2. Should I switch to low dose trileptal instead? lamictal too activatingthank you!

Hi. I can't comment on low-dosage lithium (300-600mg) because I have never been on it long enough to draw any conclusions.

I am bipolar III (depression with drug-induced mania). I am having some success with Trileptal to relieve depression. It is too early in my trial of 900mg to pass judgment, but 600mg did help episodically. This drug works.
Lamictal 150mg
Parnate 80mg
nortriptyline 100mg
Abilify 10mg
Trileptal 900mg

Hi Smith!
>Can low dose lithium cause 10 lbs weight gain?
I wouldn't be at all surprised :-(
>Should I switch to low dose trileptal instead?
If you're anything like me, you need to do more exercise!!! ;-) If the lithium's working well for you, I'd be reluctant to change.
Kind regards

If you can take low dose trileptal that didn't cause any wt gain for me. Now my ex-father-in-law gained a lot of wt on lithium. When he went off his lithium it was always to lose wt which he did. But he also went into a mania. Fondly, Phillipa
