well, i'm an idiot, I know. ive been on 40mg prozac for like 7 months. but just now i took my 40mg and forgot that i took it, and took another 40mg... so thats 80mg tonight!! i tried to vomit, failed miserably. should I be worried? what can I do to alleviate/reduce the effects of this dose?

if you have any of this, better get help NOW:
Symptoms of a fluoxetine overdose include nausea, vomiting, tremor, agitation, seizures, drowsiness, hyperactivity, and enlarged pupils.

Nothing will happen. Don't worry. You don't need to try to vomit.

> damn it!!I wouldn't worry to much because Prozac Weekly is a 90mg dose. Although it is a different release system, I think you will be okay.

No need to worry. 80mg is still very much in the safe dosage range, so you didn't overdose or anything. I would just go back to 40mg the next day; I doubt you'll notice any substantial problems at all.

I once took about 200mg Prozac, I didn't have any side effects.

I would skip your dosage for a few days. If it had been too much for your body to handle you would have thrown up. I used to take 80 -100 mg on a regular basis. One time I took it twice and my pdoc said not to take it for 3 days.

I don't think it will do anything. There are only so many reuptake pumps for the prozac to fill up, so it is kinda self limiting.

Hi Ed,
Did you ingest this deliberatly?
The max I took was 80mg for a day and I felt a bit bloated and fat.
Didnt you notice any minor "euphoria" ?All the best!

Yes, I tend to OD on SSRIs when I get 'stressed out'. It's dumb really because it doesn't help!
