Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the boards and meds so I'll do my best.
I take Effexor 75 (1 month) and it made my anxiety go away - I still have normal anxiety.
Everything was much better, then I started suffering terrible insomnia.
After a week of this, my doc added Remeron 15 to my treatment.
I sleep very well and eat more (a positive effect for me)
But I also have back pain and a sore throat.
The doc did blood tests - OK
So what's next ?
Do these side effects fade eventually ?
I am also wondering if I should taper of Effexor if Remeron can help me.
Thank you all for your advise and intelligence.

Hi....
I know what you mean, as I would get a sore throat on these and some other meds.
If you are just starting out, take a good pain reliever daily. It did eventually go away with some meds I took, but not with others. If you are in an air-conditioned space for a bit of time, the dryness these meds may cause can be worsened because of the a/c. Just make sure you get a full bloodworkup from your doctor to rule anything else out.
Best wishes,
Jay

Yes, remeron can cause low white blood cell count. I did get sick while on it, sore throat etc.
If anxiety, insomnia, and appetite are your main concerns, then remeron alone might be a good choice.
