I would like to request feedback. I was on Seroquel for about six months at 100mg per day at bedtime. I started Cymbalta about the same time. Both worked very well. Seroquel helped me sleep with no residual impairment. And Cymbalta lifted my spirits and calmed my temper.
I addition to chronic constipation, I gained about 20 lbs. I assigned these side effects to Seroquel. I discontinued the drug at the end of March, but my weight gain still remains. As well as my constipation.
My questions:
1. Did I quit the wrong drug? Has anyone on Cymbalta 60mg per day experienced these side effects?
2. Has anyone taking Seroquel 100mg at night experienced these side effects?
I really appreciate y'alls feedback.

I took cymbalta up to 60mg total time around 3-4months. Didn't have any weight gain. A lot of posters report wt gain on seroquel. Fondly, Phillipa

Pretty severe constipation from 50-100mg Seroquel. Craving carbs (sweets) and have gained weight after 4 weeks on Seroquel. Never experienced this with any of the ssri's. Upside is quality sleep, vastly improved mood, reduced anxiety and no depression (yet). Take it at bedtime. And sometimes a smidge (10 mg) in AM to control hypomania. Sleepiness decreases with time. Hope this helps.

I have taken Cymbalta for 3 or 4 months. It doesn't seem to cause weight gain.
This is the end of the thread.
