I have been on 100mg of Zoloft for a few months. About 8 days ago I just stopped taking it. I feel like a complete wreck. I'm depressed, irritable, and feeling self destructive. I went out and drank last night after not drinking for a over a month and caused major havoc in my home. I am so ashamed of my behavior and unsure how to cope with it. I feel stupid for stopping my meds so abruptly and I do not feel like myself. I am scared...

Hi there - One thing I learned the hard way is to not stop taking my meds. I thought I could live without them and boy was I wrong. You should get back on them as soon as possible. It'll take a few weeks for them to kick back in, but Zoloft is a good med and should work for you again. I'm sorry you're feeling scared, but everything will be ok.

I guess if the med is working for you you have to taper them. Hope you feel better. Fondly, Phillipa

I thought I was losing control after I switched off the zoloft to effexor, that was a wicked ride. You might want to get back to the Dr., tuck in and wait for the storm to pass.
