Has anyone tried this?
How does it compare to more familiar benzos such as Xanax and Klonopin?

Hi,
Darkhorse likes bromazepam, have a read of some of his posts. Annoyingly, bromazepam is no longer licensed in the UK.

Ed.

Hi
I took it for years, called Lexotan here. It's been discontinued, I think. It was my favourite, I guess. Now I take diazepam.

It didn't feel any different to me than Ativan...just another benzo. Is it marketed in the US? Same with oxazepam...my dad was prescribed Seresta when he was in France. Do they have that here? It doesn't matter...I'm fine taking Xanax, I was just wondering.

Bromazepam is sold here in Canada, and my Dad has been on it for about 10 years. I have also used it once in awhile. I'd have to say it is an *excellent* benzo, as it seems close to having the same punch as Xanax, but lasts longer. It effects much sooner and stronger than klonopin, IMHO. If you get a chance, I'd suggest you try it.

Hi,Bromazepam is certainly my favorite BZ, and I've been through lots and lots of BZ:
Let me shed some positive light on it:
- Bromazepam 3mg = Xanax 0.5mg = 1mg Ativan..etc.
- So, it is less potent than X and A , but more potent than Valium and the other BZ.- Has a half life of 19 hours. Can be taken once, twice or 3 times.
- Has no important active metabolites,so more like Ativan and Xanax, does not build up in the body after long- term use.
- Much less sedating than Xanax, and Valium, and does not give this powerful amnestic Ativan effect.
- Has sustained action, and, unlike Clonazepam and some other BZ does not have depression sffects at all.On the contrary, I found it,along with Xanax, to have a mood- elevating proporties(Antidepressant-like effect).- Much easier to get off than Ativan,Xanax and Clonazepam because it is less potent, and has relatively long half- life.
- Only 2 drawbacks :
1- It is not a rapid-acting benzo. It takes 2-3 hours to have full effects,so can not be used for emergencies.
2- The company that invented it(Roche) did not promote it well,as it was launched when its other older brother,Valium was at its peek at late 70's- early 80's , so unfortunatly, Roche was reluctant to introduce it in the biggest propaganda in the world (USA),and so Xanax took over there.
- Excellent for anxiety and PD,mixed anxiety- depression, and, for me, the only BZ that was of some help with social anxiety (Clonazepam gave me the exact opposite: social withdrawal and depression).
- IMO,it is the most underrated benzo, especially in english - speaking nations, as it is still a very popular benzo in lots of European,Asian,Latin American and African countries...Trade names : Lexotanil,Lexotan,Lectopam,Neo-Opt,Lexomil,Calmepam....etc.
Best Regards,
DH

Hi all,
Have somebody ever taken Bromazepam (darkhorse did of course :-)?
How long is its duration of action (apart from medical kinetics, studies)? Does it accumulate?
Is the duration of action similar to clonazepam?
Would it be possible for once day administration, without morning high and evening returning depressed mood and anxiety? Any comparisms to clonazepam, xanax xr?Perhaps I can not respond to my thread because I am in a hard working phase for the following two weeks.
Thanks for your experience.

Hi sdb
How much are you thinking of taking?
When it was released here it was available in 3, 6, and 12mg tablets. After some time the 12mg tablets were discontinued. (Because they were so strong?)
I can't compare it to Klonopin but it would be shorter acting and I would think no worse.
Unless you had no benzo tolerance you would have to take it twice a day.
I ended up on >24mg/d and became agoraphobic, for want of a better term. I think it aggravated my fear as it relieved it. But I'm sure all benzos will do that, especially in high enough doses.
