Hey Ladies,
this is embarassing. I have to shave my breasts. I didn't have this problem before. I don't know what may be causing it. It seemed to happen after I took Depakote. I seemed to be a lot more hairy while on it. I'm off the Depakote now, but I still seem to have this cleavage hair problem. Gross! Currently taking Seroquel, Abilify, and Topamax. Recently stopped Cymbalta. Any ideas? Will this go away?dm

D Minor,
I think I have some important info for you! What you are describing could be a sign of PCOD or polycystic ovary disease. AND there is a connection between taking Depakote and PCOD! You need to talk to both your pdoc and your gyn about this.
I talked to my gyn about this about a year ago when I went in for a check up. There might be some meds they can give you to correct this, but you do need to talk to a gyn about it!
Hugs,
MidnightBlue

Isn't excessive hair growth from too much testosterone? Fondly, Phillipa

MidnightBlue,
thanks so much. My mom and my grandma had PCOD when they were a little older than I am. And appearently genetics has something to do with it as well. Wow. I need to find an Ob/gyn. I am way over due for a check up. yeah. Thanks,

I saw my new Ob/Gyn today. She was cool. Everything is in order. Just side effects of the meds. Just thought I'd let you know.
Thanks,
dm

Well, that's great to know. I know you must feel better! But because of your strong family history you should probably have regular checkups!
Maybe now that you're off the Depakote things will get better.
