Hello, Im on 60mg of Nardil and 25 mg of Seroquel
Since this dose of Nardil I have been having some
problems with side effects.I have this one that is I suppose , urinary
retention. I spent a lot of time to start making pee and it get worst , almost impossible when I am in a public bathroom. But what I donŽt know is wheter this is part of the urynary retention or not,its this problem I have in nigths. I had very bad sleep, but not due to a bad quality of sleeping but because I stand up every half hour from my bed to go the bathroom to make pee.I feel a terrible sensation of wanting to make liters and liters of pee, but when I make it I only make a little bit. I feel ok after doing this , but then Half hour later I am in the bathroom again.
what is this guys????

Hi tep,
Urinary retention is a side effect of Nardil. I get it, and what I experience is that even when I have to go, I have to kind of "push" the urine out. But for me it doesn't increase the frequency of how often I go, and the amount is usually the same.Have you been checked for a bladder infection? Your symptoms sound more like that than urinary retention. Perhaps they are related, but I would get it checked out just to be sure.

Yeah. They do sound like an infection. Hopefully it will be because then some antibiotics will clear it up ok and then it won't bother you anymore. If you are prone to thrush it can be a good idea to get something for that at the same time as getting antibiotics. I usually forget to do this, but it can be a good idea...

Are you a male? If so, also have your prostate checked.

Hi Tep,
Yes, it sounds like you're having the urinary side effects of Nardil. I've suffered urinary hesitancy with meds, I had to push on my bladder to force the urine out. Also, I had to return to the toilet after about 10 minutes to finish- I could only empty half of the urine in one go! Sorry, too much info!
Ed.
PS. Did you get my email?

Hi Tep!

It happened most of the time, not just a night. It was very mild though.

For older men, urinary problems are the main symptom of an enlarged prostate. At your age, it's rare. But your doctor should probably check your prostate with a quick digital exam.
