Reboxitine-Any success stories?

Posted by The_Resistance on April 23, 2005, at 5:19:54

I am currently deciding whether to try Reboxitine or Lofepramine next, since Effexor doesn't seem to be cutting it as far as depression goes.

I was wondering if anyone has had any success with Reboxitine?
I know it has a bad reputation! My own little theory is that perhapse people started on to high a dosage, and got scared off by the horrible side effects.

It would be great to find something that worked for ADD type symptoms.

I went on it for depression. It made me impotent but I could still orgasm (which freaked me out) um ok i know thats graphic lol. Made me sweat heaps and, I know most people find it activating but for me it made me sleep all day and night i could barely do anything. Was not fun at all for me. But everyone is different. I have heard other men having the same impotence problems with it. However, I have heard of a lot of people having great success on it. So I guess, like with everything its a very individual thing. Hope it works for you if you try it. Sorry I couldnt offer any positive information about my experience.

Take care.

One more thing, I found it hard to urinate on it. Oh and also my appetite was totally gone too.

Thanks alientari

To be honest I think my theory is wrong, few people seem to have a long term positive response to this drug.
I think I'm going to try Lofepramine instead.

Hi,

>reboxetine and lofepramine....

I've only taken lofepramine, it did seem to help my depression to some extent. I never had any bad side effects.

I've heard too many bad things about reboxetine!

Lofepramine it is, then

I only I were a doctor, then it would Parnate and Dexedrine for both of us!

I'm not feeling to bad now, but I felt like hell earlier.
When I'm depressed I just think of Sylvia Plath's poem, "The Moon and the Ewe Tree", she says it better than I could.

Hi!

You could start with lofepramine 70mg/day and then increase to 70mg twice daily. It would probably be best to take 35mg/day for the first few days..... Unfortunately, the tablets are difficult to cut in half and I don't want you to slice a finger off in the process!

It is not a placebo, that's for sure. For me it worked better than venlafaxine, fluvoxamine, moclobemide and some more.

Just wondering, haven't you planned to try Nardil?
