When I told my pharmacist I was discontinuing my remeron she said "you might be best off to take it every other night". Well, I stopped the 7.5mg dose I had cut down to from l5mg and would now be on my third night of not taking remeron. I was given it for sleep and find the valium is doing the trick and see no reason to keep taking it. Do you think I should do as I am now and just stop , or listen to her and take 7.5mg every other day for a while. How long does it stay in your system? Thanks Phillipa

Remeron has a half-life of 20-40 hours. I don't know if this helps you or not.

So, I've thought about this and I am very dense when it comes to math. If I have not taken the remeron 7.5mg for two days, this being the third, when will I be totally clean of the remeron? How many days? Fondly, Phillipa

According to standard medical definitions, a drug is gone from the body after five half-lives (that's 1/32, i.e. 1/2 to the fifth power). This half-life is 20-40 hours, so 100 to 200 hours are required for complete elimination. That's 4 to 8 days.
You can look at it another way, though. It seems you have had no adverse reaction to stopping the med (I didn't see any remarks to that effect), so you can say in practical terms, the drug is gone from your body.
