Hello,
I would be interested to hear whether anyone on p-babble has been prescribed clozapine for the treatment of mania.

If I am not mistaken, this is what was given to my cousin when she had a psychotic episode. It was misdiagnosed as schizophrenia and would not respond to any of the APs they tried, until clozapine, which stabilized her. I am not positive--this was before I knew much about meds....she was subsequently rediagnosed as bipolar and was put on mood stablizers that helped more....
She has bipolar. She was just hospitalized Friday after a relapse, after 10 years in remission. I am so sad.

I'm sorry to hear that, I hope she recovers quickly.

Ed,
I was able to identify with every one of those negative schizophrenic symptoms you posted in your other Clozapine thread.Tom

Hi Tom,
Perhaps clozapine could be of help to you if other meds don't work out.
