I was in the middle of dissociation stage, my therpaist told me, mainly becuase i was didnt know what i was doing at my dad's firm, and he also loved to smuge me everytime i screwed up, i drove 50 miles one time to the wrong county went i showed up there i lost it! he called me why arent you back! dumbass! i hit 147mph in my black GT on the freeway to the right one, which was on the opposite side of dallas, "saying no no im on my way", then he said what that roaring sound in the back! oh nothing just busy at the court house..... bye!, i made it, i prayed to god i would not get a ticket for it, i didnt,... i made it, but i was absoluely warped after that. imagine that almost everyonther week. but it really got out of hand, i quit, told him to hire some kid from Chile. Havnet talked to him since.
I dont know, has anyone lost their mind before? Do you know hwat happens do you lose ASSosciations, i have dont that before, i take Zyprexa just incase i do go i bit coo coo, but i dont really know what my brain "looks" like, its may be fried.
MRI's, i am seeing my nuerologist at the end of March, i had an EEG, the lady slapped me everytime i moved! anyway, those readings dont mean anything with my sanity. We got to disscuss alot, i am trying to him scheduel me for PET scan, but he says those are rarely used. Bullsh*t! He said an MRI would be much better, i dont agree, but i dont know, maybe it would pick up abnormalites.

See if you can find the Thread with Dr. Hoffman who talks about rEEG and that through the brain's waves they can tell what your brain may need in the way of medications, biofeedback, or alternative. Fondly, Phillipa

The term to "lose your mind" is pretty loose. I don't think is has any real scientific meaning. It's applied to all kinds of mental states, the most common probably being schizophrenia. Your situation sounds more like a combination of anxiety and intense focus due to an overexcited emotional state. You were probably concentrating so hard on what was upsetting you that you failed to pay close attention to what you were doing (though obviously you gave the world around you sufficient attention not to crash your car). You were "driving on automatic" as they say. It really doesn't sound as if you're losing your mind in any sense of the term. Have you ever been tested for ADHD? Intense focus on one matter to the exclusion of outside stimuli can be one of its symptoms. Emotional response that's out of proportion to the triggering event can be another. I'm not sure about this, but I suspect driving too fast could be another.

I went through a period of several months with chemically induced psychosis NOS. I was absolutely out of my mind. I would leave my apartment in the middle of the night and wander around talking to people in the bushes (they weren't really there). I was convinced that I was being followed and under surveillance at all times. It developed into full blown schitzophrenic episodes and then into the ICU from a severe overdose. While things have definitely improved, the chilling memories remain and the paranoia still lingers at times.
I hope that you can get some solid help from your doc(s). It's scary as hell to not be in control of our actions. Hang in there.
