Hi!

No, but some people are because I've dispensed it from the pharmacy! I've never come across a single patient on Parnate though.

Hey Ed, thanks for replying

Parnate is doubly bad being both an MAOI and a Stimulent! (Gasp)
Although I think cases of Parnate addiction are incredibly rare.

Unfortunatly I haven't had much feedback on going abroad for treatment.
Although I know people have done it, so it can be done,
Jah L was a particular example

Hi!

Hopefully, the increased dose of venlafaxine will start to help in a few weeks :-) How are you feeling atm?

I'm feeling OK actually
I took 30mgs of Remeron last night and I feel quite energised today, I even went swimming after work.
I've heard that Effexor is supposed to work well with Remeron, they synergise or something.

The problem is the social anxiety, this is my toughthest problem I think
Effexor and Remeron haven't helped my social anxiety and I don't think Effexor will.
Its a tough one (sigh)

How are you Ed?

Ahh, are you taking the Zispin SolTabs? Is it true that they taste nice? Btw, how long have you been on Remeron?

>The problem is the social anxiety, this is my toughthest problem I think.

I don't think you'll need to go abroad to get a prescription for Nardil, you just need to find another pdoc. (Not easy, I know) I do think you'll be successful in finding one though, but you'll have to be persisitent.

Which activities cause you the most social anxiety? How do you cope at work?

>How are you Ed?

I'm ok thanks, I'm on holiday for three whole weeks now! After we go back it's only a few weeks before the exams start :-(

I think they call that combo "California rocket fuel". So i guess it works pretty well for someone :-)

Just keep looking for a doctor. I talked to two psychiatrists and wrote to TEN psychiatrists before I found 2 willing in principle to rx maoi. I choose one and on the first appointment agreed and sent the application.

So just keep trying and don't give up.

To Ed: Ted is short for Teodor (Theodor). And that is my first name!

Hi Teodor!

>Ted is short for Teodor (Theodor).

Here, Ted is occasionally short for Edward, which is my name. I thought we might have the same name! Is there a Norwegian version of Edward?

Edvard. But it's not so common these days. Like the Edvard Grieg the composer.

Take care!

Hi Jclint!!!!!

I'm glad to see you again :-) How is the therapy going?

How long have you been on moclobemide? What dose are you on? Do you think it's helping? Side effects?

Ed.

I tried Moclobemide, but it didn't help
Didn't have any side effects though.

I think it works well for some people.

I hope I do find someone in the UK who will prescribe Nardil at a decent dose.

Does any one know if Dave Bell lives in the UK, I know he takes Nardil.

I think my perfect combo would be Nardil and Dexedrine, because I also have ADD inattentive

Hi!

>I also have ADD inattentive

Did your pdoc diagnose this or did you diagnose yourself? Some pdocs don't even seem to be willing to discuss ADD w/ adults.

Hey Ed

Sorry that was a bit of a sweeping statment

I probably have mild inattentive type ADD

I doc did diagnose me with it, the same doctor who prescribed me dexedrine

My slimy NHS Pdoc said I probably didn't have ADD "because I could read novels"

Hi Ed :)

I'm on 600mg of Moclobemide. Ive been on this dose for about 10 days... no side effects really, apart from some possible stimulant effect which is not negative really. Some insomnia which I think is wearing off now. I don't like to research too much any more as the largely negative studies & anecdotes get me down, and when I'm depressed that sort of stuff just sends me to the bottom. So I'm just going off the hope that it works well for some; trying to be as normal as possible. I'm not expecting overnight changes but I'm going to give it time, because if it helps its one I would be glad to take long term. If there's no joy, I might head back onto the nardil, I'm not sure how much its worth trying out the milder drugs if none offer any relief.

Hi JCLint :-)

>Ive been on this dose for about 10 days.
>I'm going to give it time.

According to the manufacturer, you're supposed to wait 2-3 months before you can assess the beneficial effects!! It could be useful to keep a symptom diary to see how you change over the next few months.

>So I'm just going off the hope that it works well for some....

It does, I know someone that it worked well for. 900mg may be necessary for some people.

>no side effects really....

That's good. It usually seems quite tolerable, it would be great if it worked well- would be really convenient to take it long term.

>nardil...

It's reassuring to know that you can return to Nardil if you need it :-)

Post your progress!
Ed.
