THere are more articles out there, now i dont know, the top and bottem articles are about illegal use of these substances (amphetamine, cocaine) so this could be propaganda, but the second article puts me to more concern.
I dont blow off things, i have been trying not to take my adderall lately to see what will happen, but sometimes i will just blow it off and take it.I went on a trial with total amphetmaine withdrawl, pdoc discontinued therapy, i thought i was losing my mind, disorientation happened, sort of delirium, i should not of stopped it cold turkey.
I want my mind to adapt without medication, to become proactive, independent.
Now, there were millions of other sources claiming stimulant medication was very beneficial on subjects, which i absolutely belive is true, short trials, now i bet there are still successful long term trials also.
I have been on adderall since 1997.
Someone put what you belive.
Does anyone understnad this theroy?

Ambition is my main motivtive, i dont care, if this will impair me, as in the articles, forget stimulants.
THey are really reienforcing, but i have been on Adderall since 1997, for hte first 3 years i thought it was the greatest thing ever, enthusiasim, and motivation, i feel for once "orderly".
Over time I realized what bad effects it causes. I am over extreme person i guess, but i think for my own benefit for future, discontinuing treatment and let learn on my own, my mind's chemistry adapt.
I have been on Wellbutrin 300mg XL, then went to 450mg, not much help, i was stessed over simple tasks.
Selegine....i dont know, its not marketed for ADHD treatment, mainly only parkinson's.
Parnate.....i heard reports that it has similar amphetmaine actions, but im not sure about the source. If i hear the name amphetmaine again im blowing chunks.
Anyone been on treat longer than 10yrs or more?
If not just post anyway.... i want to hear viewpoints.

all the ariticles you linked are about the same study. Also, judging by their wording, they administed the stimulants in an abusive fashion to induce dependence and possibly neurotoxicity. amphetamine is not a medication, but a tool.

I know a fellow in his 60's who has been on Desoxyn (medical Methamphetamine Hcl) 60-80mgs daily for 45+ years, and he has suffered no Nurological damage from this, also two women who have been on 60mgs daily Ritalin (Methylphenidate Hcl) 40+ years, again, no Nuro damage
*Properly perscribed*, *properly managed*, **and** *properly taken*, medical Psychostimulants are very safe, for *most* people who require them
I hope this reasures you, as it did me.

ADHD, i was failing at incredible rates in my classes,
was on Ritilin 20mg, then went to 40mg, bad side effects.... i just mentioned adderall to my pdoc becuase i had heard the name before. I was only 13, he prescribed it so quick i could not even ask what it was.

I figured it was for ADHD, but I was not sure, as I do not know your entire history. You have mentioned wanting to go off of it, but if you still have symptoms of ADHD, then I wonder if that is such a good idea. ADHD symptoms do tend to get better as people get older, but there can still be some residual effects as you get into adulthood. I work assessing adults with ADHD, so that's why I was curious, in part.
I don't remember, but what dose is your doctor prescribing at this point?

Does amphetamine usage make you a very bad at spelling? Is there a connection? Or is it ADD that causes it or simply poor language skills. Does amphetamine abuse, I mean use, kill the portion of the brain where language skills reside? Or are teachers to blame? How does someone reach the age of around 16 and be so poor at spelling and have improper usage of the English language? Have there been any studies on this? With the amount of kids taking these meds I am very worried that in decades to come no one will know how to form a sentence or be able to spell properly.
