Can Nardil cause skin rash? itching?

Posted by Ted_Brossnan on March 20, 2005, at 12:31:20

I have been taking it for 18 days and currently taking 60mg. just now I noticed some red little itchy spots on my tummy and leg. Can this be cause by nardil?

Would discontinuation be necessary? or would it just go away?

Thanks
Ted.

Itching and rash are listed as uncommon side effects in the drug monograph, but it doesn't say anything about whether they will go away or not, or if they indicate anything about e.g. intolerance to the medication. It might be prudent to mention it to your doctor, and see what they say.

There was a single case report in Medline of an intense itching rash preceding a pretty severe adverse drug reaction, but only that one case report.

It wouldn't be from your hand rubbing against your leg or your arm rubbing against your stomach would it? <grin>.

Just a little "Mr. Happy" joke there. Totally inappropriate ... but really, I shouldn't get my knuckles rapped because I am suicidal and depressed and maybe this is progress. :)

:( That was so not civil, but I couldn't resist. I'm sorry.
