Just wondering what everyones' opinion is re: the 2 diff. benzos in regard to tolerance, memory, cognition, exacerbated depression etc. I took Klonopin in varying doses for years but my latest Pdoc put me on Valium for anxiety with associated body aches tension etc and it seems like it is not doing a very good job. I am not sure. My de-realization is very frustrating.I feel tense and edgy a lot of the time and and I am getting sick of living this way. I go see my Pdoc next tue and I could use some input on what to target next. I think I am getting about 35 to 45% of what the Effexor should be doing (I have taken it off and on since it first came out in 93'-94') and "everything in between" since then. Even ECT. My diagnoses' are 'BP II , atypical mixed symptoms, co-morbid OCD and GAD and feel like saying screw it all and starting to drink to medicate myself again but I know that would probably just make things worse in the long run. Very Very frustrated. Brain fog, de-realization, memory problems, confusion and too many other crappy symptoms to mention. I really am trying hard to not be my own Dr. but yet be proactive in treatment but I am just so sick of the game; like I am sure many of you are as well . Thanks for reading and all comments and or ideas and suggestions are welcome!
Thanks
Snapper

It seems as if we all experience the same things and thoughts at the same time. See my Thread above. I'm not the only one dissatisfied with meds at this time. It seems to come and go. Fondly, Phillipa

Have you tried zyprexa? It often works well for a whole bunch of psychiatric symptoms, especially including the kind you mentioned.

I took 1 tablet in the hospital 5 years ago and I know it is supposed to be effective for a broad range of symtomology but I am terrified of any more weight gain and "Z" is notorious for that and diabetic onset. Also would'nt it make me more apathetic than I already am? I have motivation and anhedonia issues.
