So glad to find you all. I had been taking 375 mg of effexor for about 4 years. Started slow tapering in Oct. 04 , taking 75mg less every 4 weeks. Been on no mg since 3/7/05. Feel more alive than I have in years; I think effexor numbed me out. HOWEVER, I find I am more irritable at times (like at inconsiderate people or bad drivers) and apt to feel teary when reding sad things; something that hasn't happened in years. Anyone else have these kinds of issues?

I've had similar experiences w. Effexor discontinuation. I've been on 150 mg XR for about 4 years and have been tapering down over the past 2-3 weeks. I've been cutting my dose in half every week and am now thinking it's too fast. I haven't taken any Effexor over the past few days and have been feeling awful. Very low energy, headaches, very sleepy, unmotivated.
I've tried taking a small amount of Effexor (25 or 37.5 mg/day) to help me w. these symptoms but with mixed results. I think this is all part of the difficulty w. stopping this drug. My plan is to try to hold for the next few days.
Anyone have any other advice?
