Hi Ed,

How are you? Are you annoyed with me? Only you are replying to lots of posts, but not mine.

I have sent you a couple of babblemails, and now I'm wondering if maybe you didn't recieve them. Therefore, you might be thinking I'm ignoring you. I'm not!!

Anyway. Hope you are ok. Love Kate xxxx

Hi!

>How are you? Are you annoyed with me?

No, of course no. I've been ill, I would have replied to your babblemail yesterday but I was in bed!

>I have sent you a couple of babblemails, and now I'm wondering if maybe you didn't recieve them.

Don't worry, I've got them :-)

Ed xxxx

Hi Ed, This is Ben on Clomipramine, that sounds like a really bad add, anyway, you pointed out that perhaps it's main metabolite had norandrenergic properties, after I said that my psychiatrist noted an increase in my anxiety on norandrenergic drugs. Could I ask you, do you have any recommendation on what I might combine with clomipramine, to offset the mental clouding. My mind is dull, I've lost my creativity, clomipramine kills the OCD, and unfortunately Stimulants - Prov. Rit, Dex, exacerbate it badly, although I have never tried them with clomipramine. Still whenever I get cotrol over my symtpoms, I sedated to almost a vegetative state. I have GAD/pD TS/oCD:( At one time iun university I took prozac with imipramine, and was still very tired, although I the SSRI's alone are alway somewhat activating for me. Any suggestions - of note, I was wondering about hyperactivity, i couldn't sleep last night, and remembered a friend who took coffee, for hyperactivity and was knocked out, I tried super strength tea, and I felt a little calmer, so I don't know, but as soon as I get alert enough to fnction, I can't sleep maybe I need to exercise

Hi Ben!

I've been reading your posts :-) If your symptoms of OCD and anxiety are well controlled, is there any chance that you could decrease the clomipramine dose?

I know it's not easy, the thought of relapse is scary, I came of citalopram 60mg three months ago, I was taking it for OCD. Since I've been off the citalopram I feel less like a vegetable. I'm not suggesting that you come off clomip, just that a dose reduction might really help you.

Does caffeine increase your alertness during the day? It's best to take caffeine in the morning and early afternoon only, if you take it later you might not sleep!

Best regards,
Ed.

Also, I think you said you were taking a lot of clonazepam. Now that you're on clomipramine, could you reduce the clonazepam dose?

Thank you Ed, I've actually decreased the clomipramine from 200 to 125 over the past week, I feel a little more anxious, but it's better. I started on a regmine of multivatmins, that are purported in some to have various benificial factors, this is only my own doing, and observation of two mornings, but after a couple weeks on the pills now, i find myself more balanced, energetic and less depressed/anxious after I take the pills. Mind you I have no stress on me now, so it's hard to gauge how I'd be if I had to keep to a schedule, but we'll see.

A far as the clomipramine, I guess I could reduce it, I was holding my breath till a better anxiolytic came out, perhaps ocinaplon or pregabalin, I don't know the pregabalin seems to have 'pooped-out' for one of the posters, we'll see - anyway,

This week I'm going to he U.S. national anxiety disorder conference, so hopefully I get some info. there. All the best

Ben

Wow, that quite a big decrease for just one week! I expect it could take a few weeks before you're feeling much more energetic.

I hope the conferance is useful. Do you live in the US? I had a feeling that you lived in Canada.

Best regards,
Ed.

I can’t say for certain that it’s the clomipraine, I’ve also started a new regimen of vitamins, at best, their effect should be relatively subtle, and it’s only been 2 weeks, but I am feeling a little better, but still have no commitments/contact beyond immed. Family, so it’s hard to gauge.

Yes, I may have jumped the gun, I feel somewhat more energetic, but still sleep 12 hrs,

Yes I live in Vancouver, Canada, the conference is in Seattle this year. I’ll see if they have any suggestions. Also, you have some anxiety – I’m writing an article on it for a local support group – I’ll certainly pass on anything noteworthy if you’d like.

Take care,

Ben

That's quite a lot, I've slept 18 hrs at certain times in my life, not at the moment though!

Yes, please do.

Take care,
Ed.

PS. I'm curious about how old you are.
