I tried wellbutrin with my effexor but was too anxious and unstable. would a switch to provigil maybe be a good think for daytime lethargy?

You could try it, but people do get anxious and bad headaches from provigil. But since everyone is different you won't know until you try.

I was really irritable on welbutrin, especially the first month or so, it mellowed out after some time. For me provigil was almost transparent, no anxiety, not any side effects at all really, just increased energy and focus.

i like provigil a lot, second only to adderall. i think it made me less anxious than wellbutrin. i never took it with effexor, but i took it with other antidepressants and with strattera. provigil made me super-focused and more alert, but it didn't mess with my sleep so much that i coudln't go to sleep if i wanted to. it didn't make me more energetic or hyper; it just made me sort of robotic in my focus on one task or one thing. of all the stimulants i've tried, it feels the most natural-- it doesn't take away my appetite or sleep. i may not feel as hungry or as sleepy as without, but i can still eat and sleep normally. i don't think it's a wonder drug or sleep in a pill by any means, but i think it's a good med.
