Ok, I'm not completely giving up on the Provigil, but, at this point, I can not afford to spend too much time trialing a drug that is causing such unrelenting nausea and these weird piercing headaches, particularly if I may not be able to get to a therapeutic dose. I have already spent months and months dealing with severe nausea and loss of appetite.
Plus, I really need to get my depression under control. It is really starting to take its toll on me. Amazingly, my pdoc has agreed to let me trial Nortriptyline. So, I will be combining Nortriptyline with the Celexa (20mg - 30mg) I have continued to take for the past few months. I am nervous about yet another trial since I have had a number of failed trials over the past year (and I had given each drug, with the exception of the Provigil, at least 7 - 8 weeks before accepting it wasn't helping).
So, do you think I can be somewhat optimistic about this combo? I am so hoping that it will provide at least more relief than I have had with the other drugs I have trialed. Once I have the depression better controlled, and I am eating regularly again, I may consider adding the Provigil to the mix if more energy and motivation are needed.
So, what do you think? Thanks Ed.

Hello!
Was this post to me? Sorry for not replying earlier, I've been ill :-(

Yes, definitely :-)
Have you started the nortriptyline already? What dose are you starting on and how fast are you titrating? What dose of Celexa are you taking at the moment?Ed.

-- Not yet. I am picking up the script today. He is starting me at 25 mg. I would imagine that I will be at 25mg for a week then go up to 50mg (that is what he did with the Anafranil). At the moment, I am taking 20mg (sometimes 30mg) of Celexa. That seems to help with the anxiety, but not much else.Take care of yourself Ed.

Hi!

Sounds reasonable :-) After you reach 50mg you may need the 10mg tablets to titrate, the usual dose of nort is about 50-100mg a day.

Not too bad thank you but I've missed a few days with being ill and am already feeling a bit behind.
Good luck,
Ed.
