Hello,
I am now at the 15mg a day and feel that it makes me more self conscious and it increases the inhibition and the anxiety.
I just wonder whether it will work on an opposite manner at highr doses such when I get up to 30 or 40 mg?!
Can it be that the MAO-A inhibitory effect of it at higher doses would counteract the over stimulation and increased anxiety at the low MAO-B dosages?!
I feel also that my baseline blood pressure is increased at the low dose. I feel my heart works faster.
Can it be helpful for SA at higher doses?!
Hello ed_uk. Yes it's been a while. I have had great holiday and I tried Aurorix (Moclobemide). It helped sinificantly for SA and mood generally but the effects faded away after 2 weeks. I stopped taking it at week 5, not sure if it would have started to work again if I have had continued taking it.
Thanks for input!

Hiya!
>I am now at the 15mg a day and feel that it makes me more self conscious and it increases the inhibition and the anxiety.
Unfortunately, increased anxiety seems to be a common side effect of selegiline. I haven't yet come across anyone who has found it anxiolytic- I don't know many people who've tried higher doses though.
>I feel also that my baseline blood pressure is increased at the low dose. I feel my heart works faster.
Have you had your BP measured?
>I just wonder whether it will work on an opposite manner at highr doses such when I get up to 30 or 40 mg?!
It's possible but I would try to get hold of Nardil if you can, I expect that it would be much more effective, I know it's difficult in Norway though. Have you asked your doctor whether there is any way that you could import it, I know that such a system exists in Finland, not that that's of much use to you LOL.
Perhaps this site will tell you more....

I'm glad you had a great hol! Where did you go I don't remember?
What dose of Aurorix did you take? 600mg? 2 weeks is a fast poop-out, even for Aurorix!
Best,
Ed.

Hi,
Nardil is on the way. My psychiatrist has sent an application and the local pharmacy has got a copy of it. I might have it already in 1 to 2 weeks time.
The thing that discourages me about Nardil is the hypotension and sexual side effects. But if I decide to try Nardil it would be my last resort and I suspect it would help greatly, then I would have to just tolerate it!

Ted, not to press, but why do you say Nardil would be your last resort? Sounds somewhat fatalistic. Have you tried Klonopin, Ativan, Xanax, Amisulpride, Zyprexa, Picamilon etc., or various med combos? All I'm saying is, never say to yourself, "OK, this is the last drug I'm taking so it had better work!" Anyway, good deal getting off Deprenyl. Real bad drug for social anxiety. I still dread even thinking about it.Hi,

I am still a 20mg mark. Going up to the 30-40mg range soon. Sometimes feels it helps, sometimes makes it worse. But again have no clue how it works at the higher doses.
Nardil has arrived! I saw it today at the pharmacy. I kept it there for now, until being sure how selegiline would work. Nardil sounds great but bothered by the side effects. Selegiline would be milder regarding this but hope it will work.
Feels Nardil has better chances. But I waited long, I can wait a little more.

Hi!

Are you finding it easy to stick to the diet?

Exciting :-)

I don't know if anyone has experience with high-dose Selegiline but I would think it would have the typical MAOI side effects.

i imagine it would be much like Parnate at higher doses, and almost certainly more like Parnate than Nardil, for what it's worth.

> i imagine it would be much like Parnate at higher doses, and almost certainly more like Parnate than Nardil, for what it's worth.as an alternative to selegiline, you might want to try the MAO-b inhibitor Agilect (rasagiline) when it comes out later this year in the U.S.(it has just recently been approved in the EU). It is similar to selegiline but without the amphetamine-metabolites, thus, possibly causing less side effects.
