dexedrine/ adderall

Posted by bark2323 on January 25, 2005, at 19:51:25

Hi, I posted a similar message to this a while ago, but only got one reply (not that that wastnt helpful), but I do need more advice and have a few more questions.
Right now Im on adderall xr 20mg, and while it does improve my energy, and concentration a tiny bit, it does nothing for motivation or sociability the way provigil (which I used to take) did. So I think I need a higher dose, although it does make me jittery (does this decrease with time?).
Because of the jitteryness, I was considering asking for dexedrine spansules, since it doesnt have the l isomer of amphetamine in it. But Im a bit confused about dosage conversion with adderall, since in adderall's monograph it states its a 3 to 1 mixture of the d and l isomers, but when you look at the ingredients all 4 salts are in equal amounts. So would 20mg of dexedrine be a 10 or a 5mg higher dose?
Also, Id like to hear people experience with how long the dex spansules really last; can it really be taken once a day and work all day (or at least 8 or 9 hours)? If not, how long does it last for you?
thanks,
matt

why did you stop taking provig?
did you find that adderall made you more sociable at first, then that effect wore off?

I went off provigil to see if adderall would be more effective, and for a complicated insurance reason. And so far the adderall hasnt helped much in the social department.
