Hey everybody! National Geographic's cover story this month is about caffeine...anyone who is interested in this ubiquitous stimulant should definitely check it out. One interesting tid bit: in a study cited by national geo., researchers found that 600mgs caffeine was as effective as 20mg amphetamine in volunteers (I'm assuming by amphetamine they mean straight up amphetamine, which I think is benzedrine). It'd be interesting to see if high-dose caffeine intake could be as helpful for depression as, say, provigil or the weaker amphetamines.

I read the article and thought it was quite extensive.
There is a company that is researching a derivitive of caffiene for use in depression.
