I know that Valium and Klonopin are both benzodiazapams and can also be used for seizure control. But do they both make you feel the same? Phillipa

Hey! valium and klonopin have different effects. Valium, introduced in 1963, was meant to be an anxiety drug primarily...it was around this time that non-barbiturate anti-anxiety pills were being developed. Milligram for milligram, valium is weaker than klonopin. I forget exactly how much strong, but I think it might be .5=5; that is, one half-milligram of klonopin is roughly equal to the bang you'd get from 5mgs of valium. Anyway, klonopin was designed and developed in the '70s for seizure control. It causes less drowsiness than valium, is more potent, binds more tightly to GABA receptors, and generally rocks. Frisium is another benzo first used for epilepsy but later used for anxiety, too.
This is the end of the thread.
