I need to know info on neurotin and if it works for anxiety. I am taking celexa, klonopin and am supposed to start gabapentin (neurotin) that I will start Monday.
ANy stories, suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.

Try all three together, then consider changes a few weeks later if you feel a lot better. I can't seem to ditch a tiny dose of SSRI for anxiety, and I need the clon for an acute panic phase (I'm bipolar), but the gabapentin can be very useful for agitation and generalized anx. and can boost the effect of other antipanic and OCD meds.

Hi Chill its a great med IMO and I have never had an issue with it. It mixes well with most meds and is known for this..well add to the relaxing properties of the other med...The new generic one is out and well I took it for SLEEP a huge dose at night...woked great and mellowed me out.I suffer anxiety too and have kept a low dose at bed now. I will not do any SSRI;s that is just me but worry not...It may make you tired or sleepy at first so they may start it at bed .....Let us know and good luck

I found neurontin to be pretty decent for anxiety, especially the racing thoughts/ruminating type, although I was on zyprexa at the same time. But zyprexa's anxiolytic effects typically wane for me pretty fast, so Im pretty confident it was mostly the neurontin doing the job. After awhile I did notice that it was impairing me cognitively, however. I dont think this is a common side effect though, and it probably depends on the dose (I was on 1800mg a day). I now only take it if I cant sleep (klonopin (and to some extent zyprexa) now covers the anxiety).
