My flight to Tasmania was nothing short than a complete disaster....I remember taking 4mg Xanax as a single dose and then maybe some Seroquel...
But I must have took LOTS more...my memory is gone...I missed two plane flights due to my drugged nature. On arrival in Tasmania I had severe ataxia, psychomotor retardation, slurring of speech, and vomiting for two days. My poor parents were very concerned and even rang a doctor...I was brain dead and walked straight past my brother at the airport, apparently.
This is my dillema...I need something to just conk me out for the flight and that's it...
But I go overboard when I'm frightened...I'm even scared now thinkikng of my flight home....
Should I take
6mg Xanax as a single dose?
100mg Seroquel as a single doseor a combo
any suggestions please....

2mg klonopin is about what I take to make it through a flight, but I still get nervous at times so maybe you could go higher.
I took 4mg of klonopin b/f a flight a few years ago and I was feeling so uninhibited that I asked one girl out on the van back from the airport and another girl early the next day. Those were the first and only times that I have ever had the courage to do anything like that. Naturally, I managed to lose both of their numbers within hours.
I have no experience with Xanax or seroquel, but is it possible that combining the two drugs is what did you in? How about just taking one of them?
Also, I don't know if this is an issue with you, but I make sure to carry with me only enough anti-anxiety medication for the flight and I check the rest in my bag. If I were to have it all with me on the flight, I would likely raid the supply and end up taking too many pills if I got panicked durring the flight. You can bring an extra Xanax with you and disolve it under your tongue for faster action if you do start to freak.

Hey Dude!
Thanks for the post! Are you new here?? I'm not sure if we have exchanged posts before....
Yeah man, the flight is a hard thing....I was SO sedated last time- TOO much so...
I'm going to stick with the Xanax idea I think...
Maybe 5-6mg Xanax 1 hour before take-off time...I hate this, but otherwise i would just freak....last time i turned the plane back and had to exit!!!! I used no benzos then...
the only way is to just conk myself out- SLEEP. Or extreme sedation, to the point of slurring speech, ataxia etc.
I hate having mental illness, but at the end of my life, I will sure have some crazy stories!!!!
Peace,Ace

Hey Ace,
I used to post here a while ago, but I had a different name then.
That reminds me of another airplane story. Flying back home to New York City once a couple of years ago, I took a bunch of Klonopin. I remember falling asleep pretty quickly once I got on the flight, and the next thing I knew I woke up the next morning at home in bed.
So, somehow I got off the plane, retrieved my checked baggage and made my way via taxi (I guess) to my home and then made it to my bed and passed out - and I don't remember any of it.
Good luck with your flight

I remember falling asleep pretty quickly once I got on the flight, and the next thing I knew I woke up the next morning at home in bed. This is EXACTLY what happened to me. I have almost total memory loss of those 2 days I struggled to get on a plane. Unfortunately, due to extreme sedation, I missed two flights!! When at home for 2 days I was vomiting all the time.
I have worked out a solution- tell me what u think.....Before the flight I will hav only 2 hours sleep, then take only 4mg Xanax- this will prevent vomiting and missing planes, so I think I should be right.

That's one thing I have to sort out. I have to be very careful with my luggage and what not. I will absolutely get everything in order while in a lucid state before leaving. I have asked my parents to leave the airport an hour before takeoff -- i don't want them to see me so sedated...my Mum will cry, she cares for me so much...

Hey Ace,
Smart idea about combining Xanax with sleep deprivation. That might just do the trick.
Have you tried alcohol b/f the flight? That's how the rest of the world seems to deal with their flying anxiety, but it doesn't do a damn thing for me.
Also, have you tried disolving the Xanax under your tongue? This should make is supposed to make it take effect faster than swallowing.
Good luck,

> Have you tried alcohol b/f the flight? That's how the rest of the world seems to deal with their flying anxiety, but it doesn't do a damn thing for me.You must be reading my mind! Thats exactly what I brought up with my parents today....essential alcohol works wonders for me against anxiety and doesn't induce sleepiness. I havent drank for so long now (because my meds make me happy enough!) i would be drunk off half a beer!!!
With Nardil, however, it must be bottled beer.
But when I was on Zoloft, which didn't help anxiety at all, I was drinking heavily for 2/3 months- im talking 6/7 days per week. It took care of the depression and anxiety big time. Unfortunately, It's AD effects don't last and I ended up being nearly a depressed drunk.>
> Also, have you tried disolving the Xanax under your tongue? This should make is supposed to make it take effect faster than swallowing.Oh yeah. It does. I have taken it sublingually on a few occassions and within 2-5 mins it can take effect. Basically we are doing some of the bodies work by dissolving the tablet, so it enters the blood stream much faster.

Thanks heaps for your post -- it really helps...I'll let you know next week how I went!!!
Peace to you bro,
