Hi,
Has anyone ever become aggressive or suicidal during treatment with a tricyclic antidepressant?
Has anyone on babble experienced serious withdrawal symptoms on stopping or reducing their trusted TCA?
Ed.

I became a little bit irritable on adding doxepin to celexa.

With desipramine I thought I was getting literally crazy after only 5 days of taking it. I sensed that if I had continued on it, I would have experienced a drug-induced pyschosis.
Didn't have this problem with doxepine or trimipramine.

Nope, nothing of the sort. Just fat and happy.
Not sure about the withdrawl thing. About two days after stopping doxepin my symptoms immediately returned (panic followed by depression). Don't know if that's withdrawl symptoms or just me.
Hope that helps,

Hi,
Can you describe your experience with desipramine?

Hi Ed,
my experience with desipramine is difficult to put in words. I started out on the first two days noticing an increase in concentration when reading. No other side-effects.
That changed the last three days when I increasingly felt like I was at the verge of losing my mind. I never had psychosis but my instinct told me to stop desipramine or else I'd start hearing voices and become paranoid. I can't recall the exact dosage, but it was definitely not more than the recommended dosage, because I tend to stick to lower than recommended dosages when starting a new drug.
This is the end of the thread.
