Posted by Jeroen on December 15, 2004, at 16:47:40

hi, could it be i have narrow angle glaucoma?
i took geodon for 1 month and now my eyes are blinking, they feal weird like a pressure in it

ive been 3 months off it, and still have it, im falling into deep depression

my eyes feel irritated

something weird is going on... i took ANTI PARKINSON Akineton and that made things very worse, eyes very red and blinking like every second, i also see things on lights

i just read this i purchased geodon non prescription from www.usadrug.net GEODON 20 MG

Patients who are at high risk for developing narrow angle glaucoma should be aware that certain medications, including some that are nonprescription, may increase the risk for developing glaucoma

I CANT HANDLE THIS ANYMORE!!!!!!!!! IS THIS TARDIVE DYSKINESIA OR SOMETHING ELSE LIKE NARROW ANGLE GLAUCOMA

IVE BEEN LIVING WITH THIS FOR 3 MONTHS... i feel very depressed and thinking of killing myself unfortunatelly :(

i know im not the only one with problems but everything is very bad for me at the moment

Hello Jeroen,

You won't have narrow angle glaucoma. As far as I know, narrow angle glaucoma causes very severe acute pain in ONE eye, the pupil is dilated and repetitive blinking does not occur.

You must not kill yourself. There is hope for the future. Have you seen your neurologist lately to discuss your blinking? He should be able to suggest some treatment options.

All the best,
Ed.

Hi Jeroen,

I think amantadine might help you. The vitamins could also help.

Have a look at this little report.....

'An 18-week, double-blind, crossover study of amantadine and neuroleptics in the treatment of tardive dyskinesia (TD) is described. A fixed-dose regimen was used, and objective rating scales for TD, extrapyramidal symptoms, and mental state were employed. The results indicate that amantadine is significantly better than placebo in the management of TD.'

Occasionally, amantadine can worsen symptoms of psychosis. While you are taking amantadine you will need to be seeing your psychiatrist regularly.

I'm a bit concerned about Zyprexa though. Although Zyprexa is sometimes used to reduce the severity of tardive dyskinesia caused by old antipsychotics such as haloperidol, Zyprexa has been reported to cause tardive dyskinesia itself. Clozapine might be a better option if you really need an antipsychotic. On the other hand, if you can manage without an antipsychotic at the moment, it would probably be better not to take one. This will give your brain time to heal.

If you are feeling depressed at the moment, an antidepressant could help you to feel better. I'm sure your psychiatrist would be willing to prescribe one.

Best Wishes,
Ed.

When did you take the parkinson medication. Did the blinking start at the ame time?

Why don't you take an AD?
