I think Cymbalta is making me more suicidal than I've been for 13 years. I am so apathetic it's painful. I really can't stand it anymore and just want to die.

I'm really sorry to hear you're not doing well right now. I know words aren't very comforting when the pain is at its worst...Just remember there are people at PB who understand what you're fighting with and hope you feel better as soon as possible.
Best...
Steve

Hey, hang on, 'K?
Cymbalta has been a mixed bag for me, at best, but it has certainly sapped my will to initiate actions. Without Provigil, I would be where you are. And I nearly got suicidal myself, when I was spending all day just lying on the sofa like a lump, berating myself for not doing all the things I should have been doing.
But you know what? It's the drug. So, it can go away, either with augmentation, or discontinuance. It's not permanent.
I know how frustrating it is for me to have so much trouble finding something that works and is tolerable. I know that it's easy to feel like giving up. I give up about twice a day, but remind myself that I can always stop the drug.
Have you talked to your doctor about this yet? What does he/she say?
I hope this eases for you soon. Be well.

Hello Jerry,
I'm so sorry you're feeling bad. Please make an appointment with your pdoc so that you can change your treatment. Keep logging on to psycho-babble :-)
Best Wishes,

Jerry,
I'm so sorry you are not feeling well. I HATE med changes.
It sounds like you need your doctor.. This is an SNRI right? Perhaps EffexorXR will help, but it might make sexual relations difficult. Wellbutrin also elivates norepinephrine. I really like the XL formulation. Once per day dosing and a steady state of Wellbutrin has done me a world of good.
It seems like whatever you must do you really need to go to the doctor. I know, I hate going there, yet he really does help.

Jerry,
Sorry you are not doing well. It is so tough. Please just hang in there. I know it is easy to say but do it anyway bro. See your doctor again.
Best - Steve

I see my doc again on Monday. We'll most likely be switching to something else besides the cymbalta. I asked to go back on opiate therapy - but I doubt they'll do that again. I can only hope I guess.
thanks for the support.
