Yesterday in the car, i thought i was on verge of insanity, al of a sudden disorganized thoughts, and especially a feeling of unreality, like i was stuck inside my head.
I do have *some* dissociative symptoms, but no memory lapses. I felt this all the way home for about 2 hours then finally it let up, thank god i was back to full reality.
But Would Zyprexa have any benefits in this situation?Tell me any other meds that you think would be
helpfulThanks
Matt

yes, an antipsychotic like Zyprexa probably would help. But that particular med is an older one. there are newer ones like Geodon and Abilify that have fewer side effects.
i have had a few different kinds of "dissociative" symptoms in the past and Abilify really helped clear up my thinking and get rid of that feeling of "unreality." i also was on Risperdal (like Zyprexa, an older drug) for a while but it made me way too sedated.
have you ever been diagnosed with any sort of mental disorder? Just curious. I imagine what you experienced in the car also made you very anxious. Do you feel anxious very often? What you described sounds like it could possibly be a form of a panic attack. In that case, other meds might work better.
