I have panic attacks and GAD, and 1mg Klonopin in the morning sedates me, so I've been trying .5mg at bedtime and .5mg in the morning to try and reduce the sedation, but my doc told me that taking Klonopin at bedtime will only work for me while I'm sleeping but not for the next day's anxiety because even though Klonopin's half-life is more than 24 hours its duration of action from when ingested is only around 8 hours, so he says only a dose taken in the morning will help with my daytime anxiety.
Anybody find taking Klonopin at bedtime works through for their next day's anxiety? Or is my doc right and a bedtime dose of Klonopin is only good for getting a good night's sleep?

I find my dose covers me anywhere 8-12 hours. My AM dose is actually more important to my functioning than a PM dosing - which sometimes I skip.

From my experience, your doc is right. Does .5 mg day and night control your daytime anxiety as well as 1 mg in the morning? If it does, and you are still sedated, consider .5 mg in the morning and only .25 mg at night. A friend of mine takes it this way, and it works well for her.
I've been taking .5 mg twice a day for a long time, and am no longer sedated by it.

I take Klonipin for RLS at bedtime, and I also have anxiety. It does not help me with that for the next day. I have to take it again the next day if I need it. I usually don't take anything for the anxiety, because it's not that severe. Hope everything works out ok, hand in there. -L
