I've smoking pot for the last 7 years to cope with depression. Recently I got caught by the police with marijuana in my car. As a result I just found out today that I'm going to have at least a year of probation (or more specifically have to report to a pre-trial intervention supervisor). This is going to require me to take a piss test at least once a month. Meanwhile after getting counciling after this incident I was diagnosed as ADD and prescribed Adderall as well as an SSNRI for Depression.
I've read that Adderall will definitely show up on a drug test. I'm pretty sure I'll be OK since I have a prescription and see the pdoc bi-weekly. Yet, I'm just wondering if the court can try to force me to stop taking Adderall which seems to be helping...
Any input on this subject would be greatly appreciated...

I'm no lawyer, but my understanding is that you can be denied medication only IN prison, not in PTIs. Make sure your Rx is known and you should be fine; in the PTIs I've seen in friends, judges get HAPPY when you get medicated...its a sign of progress. Good luck!

If you have a legitmate diagnosis and prescription for Adderall it should not be a problem. They can't stop someone from getting treatment for a condition, even if its an amphetamine, as long as its all legitmate - (keep the script, bottle, dr name etc.. to show whoever if nessacary).
Oh and by the way, Adderall is a very nice medicine :-) Your going from marijuana to a powerful amphetamine! There is some irony that you were prescribed such a drug in this situation of yours, but I am very glad it benefits you. Don't up the dose to fast or anything or you could gain tolerance. Who knows maybe your doc will prescribe dexedrine next :-)

And yea, I'm being very cautious about the Adderall. This is only my first week on it - and hopefully it'll just be until I get on my feet again.
