Hi I have been on Prozac for over 10 yrs (scary!), currently I am also taking Wellbutrin.
I have had depression that I can remember since age 7. I was not medicated until I was 21(I am 33).I have been treated in the past for an eating disorder that every time I think I have it licked it creeps up in some form. I have also struggled in the past with alcohol/drug overenjoyment. (but not in the past 3+1/2 yrs)
I had success in the past with prozac+wellbutrin+nuerontin+topamax combo. After 2 yrs on that I got to feeling drugged and dull.
I went off of that and just kept the Prozac+wellbutrin. I think that the prozac/wellbutrin has pooped out!I have been in a steady state of depression and anxiety the past year+1/2. I tried adding Lamictal (got the "rash" got off) and also tried Ritalin(helped with attention and helped bingeing the 1st week but didn't do much after so I went off).
Now I am at a stand still. My Dr and I are discussing options, my main concerns right now that need to be addressed are anxiety, weight gain/bingeing and depression. I have no energy or motivation to do anything other than....eat! I have put on 20lbs and will not go on anything that will make me gain more.
The topamax really helped with bingeing and mood swings(the side effects got to be annoying though, too many memory loss issues)!
I have heard Effexor is good and was wondering if anyone has tried the combo of I amy be trying: Effexor+topamax+provigil? any feedback would be helpful :-)thanks for listening!

Many people have gained a lot of weight on Effexor, including me. I was too tired to get up in the morning or to do regular daily activities. I feel 100% better without it since I started on L-Tryptophan.

There hasn't been a weight gain because the Topamax has balanced that out. Now there hasn't been a weight loss either but I can live with that.
