Hi - I've just started taking effexor and whilst my mood has lifted significantly, I am itching like crazy - no drug rash anywhere, just really bad itching.
Has anyone else experienced this ? and if so, how long before it goes away?

I have been on Effexor for about 6 weeks - no itching. But prior to that I took Wellbutrin and acquired the same intense itching all over(no rash) after 3 weeks. I was having a reaction and had to be switched immediately, so you might want to call your doc and at least let him/her know.

hi ive been on effexor for 3-4 weeks i havent had any itching but i have other side affects that i think are related to taking effexor. like hair lose, lose of appitite, shakes and deppresion any one else having any of these side affects

i've been on effexor for about a year. 6 months into it i had the itching thing. benadryl helped somewhat and it went away on its own after 5 weeks or so. also on wellbutrin but that mostly just jacks me up so i can't sleep. ain't modern medicine wonderful?

I've been on Effexor XR 300mg for over three years and never had any problems with itching. No other side effects either until I miss a dose or am really, really late. Do yourself a favor and don't EVER miss a dose.
