Lately I have spent a good deal of my day/nights in a panic-like state. About 2 months ago I was put on Serax @ 20 mg/night for insomnia; however, my doc also told me it could be used for anxiety. So admittedly I took some sometimes during the day and it seemed to help, but only at larger doses.
The part of the attacks that bothers me prob. most is that my heart races, pounds, and skips beats. This REALLY scares me and the Serax seemed to exacerbate this in lower doses.
I also have ADHD and seasonal aff. disorder, for which I take Adderall and Lexapro daily. I have been on both of these meds extensively.
I am to see my doc this week and I can't keep using the Serax incorrectly but I just got so desperate, esp. at work when I kept getting debilitating attacks.
I have been on Klonopin before (for insomnia/mild anxiety? it was a few years ago...) & have read about it's effectiveness in regards to panic.
Has anyone here taken this drug for panic problems?
I'd really appreciate it if someone could please let me know if this med produced any cardiovascular symptoms such as palpitations, racing HB, etc. I cannot remember, and plus I only took it at night back then (.5 mg).
Can anyone point me in a good direction? I feel almost paralyzed with apprehension at asking my pdoc for a possible switch. Please help me!!

Propranolol (Inderal) can often relieve palpitations associated with anxiety. You might find it helpful.
