Hi. I remember I read somewhere that it has been approved and will be available early 2005.
Have you tried oral Selegiline already, what it makes to you?!
I take 5mg a day and I think it help me focus.
Kristel.

Spoke to someone at the company recently (as was hoping to get in on a clinical trial). They are just wraping up one of their last trials and are indicating done in three to six months. Now, I don't know if that means final approval in that time frame or on the shelves in that time frame.
They had to do more clinical trials to prove to the FDA that a special diet wasn't necessary. My gut instinct is that if the FDA approves the patch but insists that it be marketed WITH FOOD RESTRICTIONS the company won't even bother to produce it. Just no money in another MAOI with food restrictions. As of August the company had not come to terms with a manufacturer.

look to the upcoming Watson Pharm 3rd quarter release for possible hints about the drug's approval process. The drug's market release is currently resting on the symbiotic situation of the company's need to address the dietary restriction issue as well as securing a big pharma marketing partner for the product.

jbecker, would you be so kind as to update us when you get that third quarter info?? I am kind of hanging by a thread these days so any information would be appreciated. And a lot of days I can't get it together to search for things. For example, in my last post I believe I indicated I called the company but it was actually my husband. I haven't been able to do much since my latest and only med combo to work totally fell apart.
I would so much appreciate it. RS

there was no update on EMSAM besides that the company is in continuing negotiations with a big pharma marketing partner. it was stated that they should make an announcement "by end of this year."
