Hi. Has anyone lost weight on Ritalin? If so, was it fast?

I did, but your body gets so used to ritalin so quickly that soon you need more and more to get the same effect.
I'd look into time release. h

haven't noticed much weight loss- course i flux a lot anyway.
But i'm so glad you mentioned the wear off thing. i just started it a week &1/2 ago, but pdoc started me at 10mg. i thought the first few days it seemed to work a little but who knows...maybe wishful thinking or hypomania??. but it's definately not working now.
There is just SUCH an overlap between adhd and bipolar that the docs just aren't sure which is which. so maybe no adhd drugs will help with me? tried strattera (up to 80mg) and that did Nothing-though was nice appetite suppressant ;^). i'm just hoping something works soon, cuz i need to be a good employee again...what dosages of Rit are you all on?

It worked right away, and I could feel myself getting less depressed by the minute. It was like riding an elevator. The problem was it didn't last.
I would take 10 mg, once in themorning and once in the pm. But I noticed the loss of appetite right away. If you haven't, it may not do that for you.

If you're having trouble maintaining focus, the ritalin normally does help with that. ALthough it doesn't sound as though the ritalin is working for you all that well.

I'm on Lexapro now, and it's a much better med for me.
I hope you find something that works for you! Keep on trying and best of luck!
warmly

i've noticed some focus is better, i can sit at something for longer than 5 min without getting frustrated (sometimes) but later in the afternoon, not so much.
i hear ya about self-monitoring. i think i'm just obsessing but i'm just trying to keep track of any 'cycles' with two moodcharts and journal.
i'm glad lex works for you. for my dep i was on wellbutrinXL and that worked Great for me. i hope my pdoc puts me back on it.
but i'm starting to get my 'night bunnies' back (it's what i call what happens in my head at night-i think it's a racing thought thing but it's like 100 soft fuzzy bunny feet jumping chaotically in my head)
i REALLY liked my trileptal for all that,it seemed to Really help that. i was on Trileptal-300 xBID
-i'm seeing new pdoc and he's questioning everything including my dx (that's ok by me, i like that) so i think his approach is only treat symptoms when he witnesses them, not following the 'other monkeys' reports. it's good and bad. but i REALLY like him so i trust him completely (i like NEVER say that-so it's good)...ooops, meant to make this short...
best of luck to you too. thanks.
