i made an app't for my friend who continues
to lose weight, despite the addition of
a 2nd AD (dx imipramine poop out after 25 yrs.
therefore additional AD). I do fear the SERZONE trial was the cause of this decline in health as she has a history of hepatitis. The gall bladder operation
around the same time sounds suspicious to me.I am probably being a pain in the neck but
i hope she asks for a blood test or referral
to an internist.I'll get back to you; crossing my fingers.

OK - here is the reply from the
dr. - Serzone liver damage is
catastrophic - happens right away;
the problem is lithium poisoning;
lithium has been eliminated.Furthermore, my friend is getting
rather annoyed at my playing dr.So, i have to stop now and hope
for the best from medical professionals.Squiggles

You mentioned Lithium poisoning. Could you post any additional infomation concerning this? I have not visited this board in a long time so if there is a thread on Lithium poisoning, could you post the URL?

Hi,Lithium poisoning is toxicity above
the "therapeutic level". Frankly, i
don't understand why my friend's dr.
would give 900mg lithium to someone
who is already on the therapeutic dose
of Imipramine, and a low dose of clonazepam.But, i don't know much about psychopharmacology,
and i believe there was a post here when
i "freaked" about the 900mg lithium dose,
that said, "chill, it's ok to mix that amount
with the full dose of imipramine".I am terribly confused, and frankly, worried.
I have no idea why my friend has lost so much
weight -- unless i am not being told something.Lithium toxicity - here is the Virtual Hospital

In this case, my friend's, the symptoms are:
- weight loss (wasting of muscle)
- weakness
- indigestion
- tremor of "flapping" kind in one wrist and jaw;
- grey slate complexionHer dr. has taken her off lithium, but I have
seen the weight loss at the introduction of
clonazepam, and the gastro problems before
the gall bladder operation. I fear that
Serzone may have started it all - but the dr.
says Serzone is immediately obvious.I am crossing my fingers, that she will get
better off the Lithium.Thanks for writing,

here objectively - something like that
creates insecurity against doctors for
me and i am already suffering from
