Hi
I've had my anxiety and depression reasonably under control with a very low dose of Prozac and a little Buspar.
Last week I started to feel the old feelings of total tiredness, achiness and anxiety. I had been doing really well in the summer, walking 2 miles a day, driving more, socialising like I used to and playing tennis 3 times a week. Then suddenely I didn't want to go out, didn't want to drive and felt totally lethargic. I have come to believe that this is to do with the time of year and that I may in fact suffer with SAD
I ordered a light box because I'm so scared to go back to those awful feelings again and it arrived today. I was so excited to start using it and then read the booklet that said I should consult my doctor if taking anti-depressants! Rang doctors surgery and he's away for the week.
I desperately want to start using this light box to see if I can get my old summer self back.
Does anyone else use a light box and take anti depressants.
I'll also be interested to know what the effects of using a light box have been.
Look forward to positive results

Wow, I've never heard this. I'm on anti-depressants AND using a light box, as recommended by my PDoc. In fact, he told me start the light therapy earlier this year and has also upped my med dosage in anticipation of problems with the days getting shorter. Good luck.

I've never heard of that. I don't know what kind of connection there might be. You can always start with less exposure and work up to 30 minutes at 10K lux (or more depending on what you need) until you can talk to your pdoc. But my pdoc recommended a light box for me, and I take Nardil, an MAOI.
