yes it is great for anxiety.

it will make you sedated at first.

it can cause depression, but it is more anxiolytic than depressogenic, for me, and I take it with a powerful AD. i am not certain that it has actually been depressogenic, although I am positive that it has not had an antidepressant effect.

Hi, I take 20mg of prozac with it. and lamictal 200mg.

Im sure you read some of my prev. posts..I was taken off xanax :( and my pdoc has given me klon. when i complained at first about sleepyness and what i called depression (crying out of the blue) she gave me ativan. (that doesnt seem to work for me) so now, I am back to klon. I dont think there are any more benzo's i can try. But what I am wondering is if the crying, headaches, etc I was feeling the first week on klonopin could have been withdrawl symptoms from the xanax. ?? I dont know anymore.......

In my case, sleep problems that I had long before I took ADs, were alleviated by Klon. I tried several sleep meds, including the other benzos, to no avail. I take it occasionally for anxiety during the day, yet it doesn't make me sleepy. I think it helps me sleep better because it reduces the busy-ness of my very busy mind. I do think it has had a depressive effect depending on what AD I was taking at a given time.

For me it seems to have a depressant effect that makes me feel a little less capable. But in the same sence it greatly reduces my sence of helplessness, its also great for that feeling of I'm better than you. I like to feel like I'm different (special) but not better than other people, if you know what I mean.

I started on klonopin about a month ago. So far I am very happy with it. It keeps the anxiety at bay
and I am not overly tired. I was previously on Ativan, but it was working less and less month to month, and I got to the point of waiting to much for the next dose. The klonopin I just take on schedule and feel no need to take anymore. I used Xanax in the past and due to numerous personal problems happening all at once, I over used it and
admitted myself to the hospital to get it out of my system...no fun...it took 10 days of withdrawl...and if I had not of been heavily sedated during the first few days..I don't think I would of made it.....Yes, Xanax does work....For someone with a somewhat stable life, I would definately suggest it.....and as I have posted before.......I can honestly say that the Benzo's are the only meds., that I can honestly state have helped me. I have been dealing with socail / GA for my whole adult life...and depression over the past 4 or so years in various stages, None of the AD have had any crossover effects for me for Anxiety.....as the wonderful websites from the manufacturers all state...

I take it for RLS, and I know I have posted that somewhere on here for someone else. I'm sorry if I am repeating myself. I have no problems with it, because I take it at night. It does make me tired. It's great for RLS.-L
