the damned amygdala

Posted by linkadge on October 1, 2004, at 21:44:45

From the researh I've read, the majority of mood dysorders could be the result of enlarged/overactive amgydala, especially when fear panic, OCD, social anxiety are in question

I hate the amygdala.

In england the psychosurgery SST works by short circuiting the amygdala, it reduces suicide post operativly to 5%, (this is in perhaps the most treatment resistant people of our time)

I'd take it.

Yes I agree fully with you.
I posted something very similar a long time ago and whilst it was not well received nothing I have read since has changed my mind one iota.
Have you come across the work of Lingo and Le Doux, someinteresting stuff there!

Wow that information is really interesting!
May I ask what the psychosurgery SST is?
By England do you mean the UK?

Sorry if these are annoying questions!

stereo subtactic tractonomy (or something like that) :), and yes it may be in the UK.

I saw a special on it once, on the learning channel, for treatment resistant depression.

before you remove your amygdala try clonazepam. the amygdala is full of benzodiazepine receptors.

Tried it, useless!
Xanax however was perfect interestingly enough!

clonazepam does work well for that amygdala problem.
