My doc upped my dosage of lexapro last week from 10 mgs. to 15 mgs. She also switched me from xanax to klonopin. I am taking .5 mgs. 3 times a day. Klonopin has helped to stop the panic in my body but my mind feels panic. Hard to go out. Does it take a while for the klonopin to make me feel better? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks..

Hi, just my opinion here. I think xanax is much better than klonopin. My pdoc switched me also, because she felt like i was going to get addicted to xanax i guess (i have taken it for about 4-5yrs) but within a few days on klonopin i felt really bad. I started getting depressed, crying again (which i hadnt done in a while) I took it about a week and finally called my pdoc and she said if i felt like that on klonopin now, that it would not get any better. So, she switched me to ativan now. (i still like xanax better) But, anyway, I am not sure if some of what I was experiancing on klon was due to xanax withdrawl or what, but i just know klon wasnt for me.
thats my story, but i know others love klon. so i guess it just depends on the person.
Good luck,
S

Be aware that Ativan is weaker than the equivalence charts show, and has a shorter duration of action, so a larger dose may be needed, and taken more often.
