REMERON

Posted by PTSD_Girl on September 25, 2004, at 20:17:45

Hi,

I used to take 60mg Remeron daily, but I had to quit due to "exfoliating dermititis". Yuck!! Plus, I had facial and abdominal edema. I never really did have any benefits that I could tell over the BAD reactions.

I began it again recently at 15mg. So far, so good. I'm hoping my body will accept 30mg without going funky again. *smile*

I am taking it for anxiety and depression....more so depression because I can't seem to find any relief from suicidal thoughts.

My question: Has anyone had good luck with a low dose of Remeron, or did that dose only really help with sleep?? I really need to find an escape from the suicidal thoughts.

Thanks.

I've been on remeron twice now. The first time I stopped because of weight gain. Both times I only took 30 mgs. When remeron wasn't working the first time, the doc considered going to 60mgs, but decided against it because it is not recommended by the mfg. Possibly because of severe side effects?
By the way, if 30mgs doesn't seem to be working for you, start taking some good quality fish oil. That's what made the remeron "kick in" in my case.
best wishes,
cherylann

I found a good responce to 7.5 as an ad and as a sleep aid.

Low dose Remeron does not even help me sleep anymore, but it did help my depression a little bit. Now I am taking Lexapro and I have no more depression (unipolar, no mania).

Have you tried any of the TCA's? Some of these are good for anxiety.

Cheers,
Paul.
