My doctor recently put me on Klonopin for insomnia and Xanax XR for anxiety. Does anyone know of any harm in taking the two together. I take the klonopin at night and the Xanax XR in the morning.

Hi, I just got off xanax after years and my pdoc put me on klonopin. I had a traumatic experiance recently (dog issue) and I took 1mg of xanax with the klonopin. And I felt like crap. I was so tired that my husband thought I was high. I had to sleep it off. But thats just my experiance.

The klonopin helps with sleep, but the Xanax XR does make me drowsy during the day, my mental alertness and sharpness seems to be affected. Any alternatives? I really don't want to be on either.

Seems to me that these 2 benzos at the same time would be roughly the equivalent of doubling one of them. Doesn't sound like a good idea. It would make me a zombie, too.
